How To Create Hot Sauce Using Your Microwave.
You might be asking yourself, WHAT? HOW IN THE WORLD DO I MAKE HOT SAUCE WITH MY MICROWAVE? Well with this handy guide, we'll show you just how to do it!
Why would I want to make hot sauce in my microwave anyways? There are a few reasons you should do this.
- You can keep your "batch size" tremendously small
- Easy cleanup
- Doesn't require many tools, all you need is a microwave and a blender!
- You can use fresh or dried chile peppers
This recipe is just a loose guide on how to do this, feel free to add or change any ingredients you wish!
We used the following ingredients in ours:
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 5-10 dried Pico de Gallo chiles
- 2 tsp chile powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp melted butter if you want to make a wing sauce.
STEP ONE: Soften the Chiles
We will begin by adding 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of salt to our chile peppers that we have put in our microwavable safe measuring cup.
After adding the vinegar and salt to the chiles we boil them in the vinegar by microwaving it for 2-3 minutes on high.
STEP TWO: Add The Flavor
After adding in your spices add in 1/2 cup of water and then return this to the microwave to boil for an additional two minutes
STEP THREE: Blend It
We used an Immersion Blender to blend this tiny batch but you can also use any high powered blender to do this job. This is what it should look like.
STEP FOUR: Bottle It
This particular recipe should not be used if you want shelf stability. You can however keep this in the fridge for about a month!
STEP FIVE: ENJOY!
